We are a small, friendly company and were founded in 2009 by Paul and Keith who are both classic car enthusiasts – Paul already owned his Rolls Royce, and Keith bought Bertie, his Bentley, and started offering wedding transport in Sussex and Kent.
Since then, we have expanded to also offer our two Morris Minors, one of which is owned by Keith, and the other by Steve. We also have two Jaguar XJ8s which we generally use for bridesmaids.
We’re a small company, and we are aware that we are privileged to be playing an important part in a special day.
From day one we decided that we want to be friendly, approachable and not have a cynical attitude towards weddings where we’d look to profit from every special request. Arriving in good time, avoiding main roads en-route to the ceremony and not charging you if things run behind are a matter of courtesy and the least we can do.
We have built good relationships with many outstanding venues in and around Sussex and Kent such as Blackstock Farm and Bannatyne’s Spa Hotel Hastings, and we’re preferred suppliers to Buxted Park Hotel, Mountains, the East Sussex National Resort and Hickstead Hotel.
We don’t believe in hard-sell tactics. If you don’t want to hire a car, we won’t try and talk you into it. We don’t pressure you into booking with ‘book today’ offers.
Marcus – Keith’s son – helps with email enquiries and is the voice behind the Facebook posts. He also often helps with driving duties and the wedding fairs we attend.
“I still remember when my father took me for my first driving lesson, the L-plates being a very visible sign that a significant stage in my life had arrived.
My love of cars has never waned since that day – in fact it’s only increased. I remember a few special loves along the way – a 1935 Austin Seven; a Mini Moke; my first Morris Minor Traveller.
And it’s these cars that make me so pleased to share the experience of the 1950s and 1960s motoring with couples as they take part in a significant stage in their lives.”
“I have had a passion for cars since collecting Corgi and Dinky toys as a child.
The first car I bought for myself after passing my driving test was a gold Mk II Jaguar, much to my father’s horror! Since then I’ve owned many desirable, if ‘difficult-to-drive’, cars.
The Rolls Royce I now have is a car I have loved since I played with a model as a child – never thinking that I would ever own the real thing one day!”
Driver and owner of: 1965 Morris Minor Open Top
Steve Parker lives and breathes Morris Minors. What Steve doesn’t know about Moggies isn’t worth knowing. His maroon Morris Minor passed through his workshop several years ago and he fell in love with it and felt it would be perfect for weddings. It turns out he was right and this little car is one of our most popular additions to our fleet.
Steve and his Moggie joined Paladins Classic Car Hire in 2013. His car was the perfect pairing with our original Morris Minor Traveller, and Steve’s friendly, flexible approach was the perfect fit with the Paladins ethos.
OUR OTHER DRIVERS
Tom, Peter and Tony
Whenever possible, our cars are driven by their owners, but as each driver owns a couple of cars there are times when this is not possible, such as when both of their cars are attending weddings on the same day. In these circumstances, Tom, Peter or Tony ably assist us. They are all experienced, passionate about cars and are more than happy to help in any way possible on your wedding day.
